SECOND SURGICAL, a 24-bed unit focused on the care of both preoperative and postoperative patients. Care is provided for acute and planned surgeries for many conditions including, but not limited to, orthopedic, vascular, urologic, and GI. All patient rooms are single occupancy to enhance privacy and provide a comfortable environment during the recuperative period. The unit is staffed by 18 Registered Nurses and supported by additional caregivers. Many nurses have further specialized their skills by becoming certified in their field of interest. Care is delivered utilizing a team approach which enhances departmental communication and quality of patient care.
