NEW YEAR’S BABY - The first arrival of 2012 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center's New Beginnings Birthing Center was Kaitlyn Marie Clark, the daughter of Kelly Smoker and James Daniel Clark of Mertie Road, Millers Creek. Kaitlyn was born at 1:41 a.m. Sunday. She weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 20.25 inches long. She was delivered by Dr. Duane Smith, left, who was assisted by Christy Triplett RN, Tammie Shumate RN, and Janet Wood RNC. Kaitlyn has a big brother, Jacob Lawrence Smoker, age 18 months.
